Premium replacement case for Game Boy Advance SP from RetroSix

Experience your Game Boy Advance SP in new splendor with the RetroSix IPS-Shell. This high-quality replacement case was specially developed to optimize your Game Boy Advance SP visually and functionally - ideal in combination with an IPS display mod as well as with original OEM LCDs!

Features

  • Made from high-quality ABS plastic for a perfect fit
  • Compatible with both OEM LCDs and IPS kits

Surface finish

  • The matt black color has a rubberized "soft-touch" finish
  • Clear shells are not crystal clear but milky clear

Includes

  • Shell top and bottom
  • 5 x screw covers (rubbers)
  • 2 x hinge covers
  • 1 x LCD cable cover
  • 1 x screw set
  • 1 x LED cover
  • 1 x battery cover

Tips

  • The shells do not have a cutout for the Nintendo logo
  • The RetroSix Premium hinges are best suited for this shell
  • To use IPS kits with larger LCDs, the small limiting nipples in the upper shell must also be removed. This can be done with side cutters, a cutter or by breaking them out. No additional preparatory work is required for use with OEM LCDs.
  • Please use the enclosed screws instead of the original screws from the GBA SP dispenser to screw the shell in place! The OEM screws are longer and can lead to unsightly dents on the top.

Premium GBA SP Shells IPS-Ready for Game boy Advance SP

The Game Boy Advance SP (GBA SP), released in Japan on February 14, 2003, is a sixth-generation handheld game console developed, published and marketed by Nintendo and is an improved version of the original Game Boy Advance. The "SP" in the name stands for "Special". It is the penultimate console in the Game Boy Advance family before the Game Boy Micro, which was released in September 2005. The Game Boy Advance series was followed by the Nintendo DS family, starting with the release of the Nintendo DS in November 2004.

After the highly successful GBA, GBO, Game Gear, GBP and GBC Prestige shells, RetroSix has continued the quest for the perfect retro console collection with the GBA SP shells.
This shell is made from ABS (from Japan), unlike all other shells on the market which are made from cheap injection molded plastic.
The fit, feel and tolerance of the RetroSix ABS shell is better than the original. The buttons are stronger with newer ABS and more precise molding than the original, the buttons and triggers are ultra-responsive, the plastic is much stronger and free of any findings as they get on injection molded shells.
