If your Nintendo Game Boy Classic is experiencing problems such as weak sound, flickering display or sudden shutdowns, defective capacitors may be the cause. These capacitors are crucial for the stable power supply and the function of the console.

Step-by-step instructions:

Preparation: Switch off the Game Boy and remove the batteries. Carefully open the shell with a Tri-Wing screwdriver . Make sure you keep the screws safe.
Identify old capacitors: Locate the electrolytic capacitors on the circuit board using the parts list provided. Defective capacitors may be swollen or leaking.
Remove old capacitors: Make a note of the position and polarity of the capacitors (plus/minus markings). Carefully desolder the old capacitors with a soldering iron. If necessary, use a desoldering vacuum cleaner or desoldering braid to remove excess solder.
Insert new capacitors: Insert the new capacitors from the repair kit, observing the polarity. Solder the new capacitors neatly in place to ensure a reliable connection.
Check and finish: Check the solder joints for correct connections and possible short circuits. Reassemble the shell and secure it with the screws. Insert the batteries and test the Game Boy.
