Tips

With third-party shells from RetroSix and FunnyPlaying , no modifications to the shell are necessary
With original shells, a small modification in the battery compartment is required
A fuse must be removed during installation, see pictures
The battery is charged with 5 volts via the USB cable Therefore, USB cable with integrated 3V voltage converter specially manufactured for the GBC are not suitable for charging.
